THE BLACK LOVE PLEDGE MUST MAKE A DIFFERENCE BEGINNING TODAY (FAREWELL...)©

Spiritual Vitamin For Today: Proverbs 16:9 ~ "Keep God In The Plan" by Rev. Lee Michaels, Heaven600.Com Background Music is "Jesus" By Shekinah Glory Ministry Wow, folks, I cannot believe we have finally arrived at Day 29 of the Black History 365 Online Book Event! While that means that we will not be hanging out at 8 p.m. every night for 29 days in roll (Lord, did that take its toll on me...uh-hm), we still must take the Black Love Pledge into the community now. I'm going to get some rest n… Continue

YES, I WANT TO WRITE A BOOK!

BACKGROUND MUSIC: "Family Prayer" by The Murrills Featuring Donald Lawrence (Heaven600) I am so sorry that I am dragging these days. I have been hanging out just a little too much with some new friends. I have to tell you all that if you haven't started mingling around BHM yet, you are denying yourselves a real treat. For instance, I hung out with Lauretta Ali so long yesterday that she had to ask me to leave...uh-hm. Now, Lauretta claimed that she woke up one morning and saw the "Lion In T… Continue

BLACK LOVE FROM THE CHILDREN'S AND TEEN AUTHORS - I©

This is just too dang good to bring to an end! Do y'all realize that there are only six more days of this totally historic event? What are we going to do without each other? Well, our Royal Ella already thought about that. We can come back anytime we want and hang out with each other. Maybe report on actions we have taken using the Black Love List. Of course, we now know this is the one-stop location to get all our publishing information. All we have to do is drop in on the Sankofa Literary Soci… Continue

BLACK LOVE FROM THE AFRICAN-AMERICAN EDITING, PUBLISHING, MARKETING & PROMOTING INDUSTRIES - I©

This is Part I of III. Part II is the Forum Discussion and Part III is the Podcast for Saturday, February 23, 2008. Whew! What a night. I hope y’all really enjoyed all that good information about financial, spiritual, and mental wellness. I know I did…Amen? Amen! It’s always a beautiful thing when God lets us know how much He loves us and there was plenty of showing of it Saturday night too when the nitty-gritty of publishing was discussed. Now, I have to be up front and honest when I say… Continue

Hey Swaggie! (I love the way you say your name on the internet radio shows - fits the name, lol)

Just passing by and wanted to let you know about our member promotion for National Poetry Month ('CAUSE lawd knows, I'M NO POET) ;-)

Immerse Yourself in Poetry this April

April is National Poetry Month and on the Black Author Showcase™ we are celebrating by posting a new member poem each day in April on the Main page. Days one and two were Marc Lacy and Afrika Midnight Asha Abney. Don’t miss the twenty-eight other talented poets we have lined up for you.

You’ll also want to check this out: BAS is hosting a live poetry panel & podcast April 23rd with our member poets to discuss their work and offer advice (on either writing or the publishing process) for aspiring writers. There will also be a big surprise for our participating poets. Call in and share your words and rhymes, everyone is invited. Click here for more information on the BAS Poetry Spotlight.

Wow, this is some interesting facts you've shared. We have some things in common on that marriage thing on my side of the family on my mother's side with the Gilbert family descent. A brother and a sister married into our family. Crazy or what??? Anyway, as for my dad's mother side. My grandmother is full Indian descent...Mohican and Cherokee. They migrated south from the shoreline of Virginia also but I don't know what part. My Nana tells me so many wonderful stories. I have taken account of this information on my numerous trips home to SC. You can direct an email to me by going on my website: www.dorothygoins.com. When you click on my picture it will take you directly to my email address.
